What is Hometown Quality Care?
The phrase “Quality Healthcare” is commonly used by
hospitals, nursing homes, doctors and insurance companies. But what does it mean
and how do you and I measure it?
The dictionary defines quality as a) a degree or grade of
excellence and b) inherent or distinguishing characteristic. I like these
definitions because quality is then defined as requiring the human element to
exist. As a result, quality healthcare then means people who believe and show by
their actions that excellence in what they do is what brings them to do the work
of healthcare.
Investing in people then is how quality healthcare is
achieved. This investment includes education offerings, training programs and
listening/acting upon their concerns.
Quality healthcare is measured by each of us very
subjectively. Measurement starts with how each of us feels our loved one or
ourselves are treated and cared for by the people at TMC. I believe in many ways
this very subjective way of measuring healthcare is more meaningful than all the
sophisticated mathematical theories that are being created in healthcare today.
I believe if you hear “good things” more than “bad things” about TMC, and
especially the people at TMC, it is more likely you will give the people at TMC
a chance if you need healthcare.
I salute the people of TMC who provide the “quality
healthcare” each and every day. Thank you for choosing to be at TMC.
